- Description:
Information Desk volunteers are often the first friendly face patients and visitors see when they arrive. You'll welcome guests, help them find their way through the campus, and provide a calm, reassuring presence during what can be a stressful visit.
- Key Responsibilities & Activities:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly as they enter the building
- Provide directions to departments, clinics, and patient rooms
- Escort visitors to their destinations when needed
- Answer general questions about parking, amenities, and visiting hours
- Maintain a tidy and welcoming desk area
- Time Commitment:
One 4 hour shift per week for a minimum of 6 months. Shifts available Monday through Friday mornings and afternoons, plus Saturday mornings.
- Impact:
A warm welcome and clear directions reduce anxiety for patients and families and help appointments start on time. Your help lets clinical staff stay focused on patient care.
- Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Completed volunteer application and interview
- Background check
- Health screening, including TB test and required immunizations
- HIPAA and patient privacy training
- General volunteer orientation
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
